What do all of us 'really' want in life?
There is only one answer and that is - we want to be happy and at peace with ourselves. Is it not?
Then why are we not generally at peace and happy?
The reason is that we have to deal with so many things in our day to day life, so many deadlines, so many challenges, so many issues, so much of this and so much of that... all this sucks our energy to a great extent and we end up struggling to find happiness or peace... Which then we try to substitute it by either watching a TV show, a movie, a puff or a drink.
But this is not a permanent solution... It’s just an escape... Just to bypass the cacophony that our situations create.
So... What other choice do we have? You may ask.
Actually if you see... It’s not the situations the challenges or circumstances that create distress... It’s our reactions to the situations... The loud noise in our minds about the situation that creates the problem.
Have you ever observed how our minds try to magnify the intensity of the problems we face? It creates so much of pressure, so much of fear, anxiety, stress, agony, impatience, urgency... as if it’s going to take our life.
But in reality... The situation at times gets solved on it’s own... and at times quite effortlessly. But till then our mind has blown things out of proportion... Thus keeping us anxious, stressed and under tremendous pressure.
So... What’s the choice?
There’s a simple thing you can do.
Whenever you see yourself getting anxious, stressed or worried... Just 'infuse' the discomfort with a lot of 'Good feeling’. As if you are transmitting the light of good feelings towards the unpleasantness. Fill this ill feeling with... Say, the feeling of love, peace, joy, enveloping it with pure white light or any other good feeling.
You will observe that the overtones of discomfort created by your mind starts getting diffused automatically and though you have a challenge to deal with, you become relatively at peace with yourself while solving it.
If you practice doing this often, you will see that you have become quite peaceful and are in control and with a mind which is quite happy.
Those who venture to try this out can experience the shift even in their first try. Keep building this up and... You might find yourself drifting smoothly on the flow of life. Being more peaceful and happy.
A simple practice... With unimaginable dividends.
